October Lift-Off!

Trusting in Yourself

Many of us were taught from a young age to listen to our elders, to heed their advice. Indeed, they kept us fed, clothed and safe (debatable?) and gave guidance in whichever form it came in. We were brought into a structure that we would “listen” and do as we were told, and we would receive praise, love and security.

As we got older, however, many of us have not transitioned to now make ourselves the authority figure. We don’t trust our own knowledge and choices because sometime people have a fear of “going against the grain” of the families existing patterns and fear being ridiculed or cast out if we make a different choice that is “approved”. We then feel guilty and conflicted making decisions as adults, when we don’t heed their words even from long ago. In that conflict, we can get into overwhelm and feel paralyzed in order to keep the peace (either yours or your families).

But here’s the thing, It’s ok and necessary! to be an authority figure for yourself. It’s ok to make choices that may not work out, or not be popular to others. Many of the greatest people throughout history bucked the “trend”, followed their curiosity and hearts, stood up for what they believed to be true. And you can, too.

Finding greater authority in your life is not an overnight process. It takes desire, focus, the right tools and most equally, the right support. Like you have found yourself successful in your life thus far, imagine how much further you could go to finding peace, happiness and success in just the ways you want it with the right resources and coach. If you want to take your success a step further, I’m here for you.

Fondly,

True greatness consists in being great in little things.
